This web site is dedicated to the
literary works of Thomas J. Morrow, author and award-winning
newspaper reporter and columnist for the
North County Times in
coastal San Diego County, California. Morrow graduated
from Arizona State
University with a degree in journalism, and for the past
41 years has worked at a number of daily and
weekly newspapers
throughout the West, including 10 years in public relations and
advertising. He served as the first vice president for
communications at the
historic Hotel del Coronado during the 1980s and owned a
small advertising and PR agency in
San Diego
until 1988 when he returned to newspapers.
In 1991, he joined the daily Blade-Citizen (now the North County
Times) as a business editor in
Oceanside,
California . He became that newspaper's daily columnist
in 1992, slowing down to a weekly column in 2007, while pursuing
his novel writing.
He has a doctorate in
marketing communications and for five years
taught advertising and public relations at Mira Costa College in
Oceanside. Previously, Morrow taught for three years at National
University in San Diego, and lectured for various sessions at
Cal State San
Marcos' Elderhostel program.
Since 1996, he has produced two 30-minute
television
programs each month, "Living Legacies," which airs daily
on KOCT-TV. Morrow interviews area residents about their life's
accomplishments and experiences. Some of these stories have made
their way into his non-fiction book, "For Love of Their
Country." His first novel, "Nebraska Doppelganger," is in its
third printing. “Doppelganger” sequel, “The
Secret at Beckham Manor,” is in its second printing, and
the third novel with James H. Martin, “The
Beacon on Kill Devil Hill” was debuted in August 2009.
